Corrupted Roots are easy to shrug off when you're levelling, then they become the thing holding up your upgrades, seasonal progress, or better rolls on your Diablo 4 gear. The trick isn't to wander around hoping they drop. That'll waste your evening. You want places where enemies are packed close together, elites show up often, and events keep feeding you targets. If you're spending more time riding than killing, the route probably needs changing.

Start with dense outdoor zones
Hawezar is a good place to begin, especially around the swamp routes where mobs tend to bunch up nicely. When a corruption-related activity is active there, it gets even better. Don't clear every tiny group sitting on the edge of the road. That's the trap. Hit public events, kill elite packs, check nearby objectives, then move. A tight loop around event spawns will usually beat a full map sweep. It feels less tidy, sure, but the material count is what matters.

Pick Nightmare Dungeons you can clear fast
Nightmare Dungeons can be great for Corrupted Roots, but don't get baited into running the hardest tier you can barely survive. If you're stopping after every pull, waiting on cooldowns, or backtracking through empty hallways, your farm is already slowing down. Drop the tier a little and blast through it. Look for compact layouts, short objectives, plenty of elites, and rooms that chain into each other without long walks. A lower dungeon finished in half the time often pays better than a higher one that feels like homework.

Use Helltides when they're up
Helltides should be part of the plan whenever the timer is active. They're busy, messy, and packed with things worth killing. Focus on public events, roaming elites, and Tortured Gifts that are actually worth the Cinders. If Whispers overlap with the same area, do them while you're already there. That way you're stacking Roots, gold, salvage, gear drops, and Tree progress without adding another chore to the night. Keep your bags clean too. A quick salvage stop is fine, but don't turn every rare into a five-minute town visit.

Build for speed, not just damage
Big boss damage looks nice on a profile, but it's not always what makes farming feel good. For Corrupted Roots, you'll usually get more from movement, wide area damage, and smooth resource flow. Whirlwind Barbarian, Chain Lightning Sorcerer, Shadow Necromancer, Poison Trap Rogue, and Pulverize Druid can all do the job if they're set up well. Cooldown reduction helps. So does movement speed. Extra evade charges are better than people admit. If your build can jump from pack to pack without stalling, the drops start adding up naturally.

Keep the route moving
A good session has a rhythm. Run Helltides while they're live, switch to quick Nightmare Dungeons when they're not, and check Legion Events or seasonal corruption zones if they fit nearby. Group play can speed things up, but it's not required. A sharp solo route works just fine. The main thing is to avoid dead time: no long town breaks, no chasing weak packs, no stubborn dungeon repeats that feel awful.
